Gas prices up, gift certificate sales down

People are paying more at the pump this holiday season, but not many are opting to buy gas gift cards for their loved ones. According to an article I just read by Jenny Jones of The Daily News-Record, demand for these certificates have not increased.

Some gas station owners say it might just be too early in the season. Of those interviewed in Jones's article, many seemed to think that sales will pick up as Christmas approaches.

Personally, I'd love to find a gas certificate snuggled into my stocking Christmas morning. That stuff is getting expensive, and I can think of a lot of things I'd rather spend my money on.

Let me know what you think. How many of you are giving the gift of gas this holiday season?
